The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Precourse Self-Assessments are online tools that evaluate a student’s knowledge before the course to determine his or her proficiency and identify any need for additional review and practice.

AHA requires that you must complete the applicable Self-Assessment with a score of at least 70% prior to attending your ACLS or PALS course. 

To Activate & Take the Precourse Self Assessment

1. Click (or tap) the link above to launch either the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment or PALS Precourse Self-Assessment (ACLS shown here). 

2. Click (or tap) “LAUNCH THIS COURSE.”

3. “Sign In” or “Create an Account”

4. Review the “Launch Description.”

5. Click (or tap) “START” to begin.

6. On a new screen, you will enter your “Full Name.”

7. Read the instructions and click (or tap) “START” to begin.

8. Click (or tap) “Exit Exercise” to return to the course landing page. 

9. Click (or tap) “Download Completion Certificate” to download the Precourse Self-Assessment certificate.

You must Save and Submit the Scoring Report and Certificate from the Precourse Self-Assessment. At least 3 days prior to when your class begins, please email both to [email protected].
