Continuing Medical Education (CME) or Continuing Education (CE) credits are offered for some American Heart Association (AHA) Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) courses. Use this information to claim and obtain your CME/CE certificate.
AHA CE/CME is available for the following courses:

After you completed your AHA course online, claim your CME/CE credits on the same website where you completed the course. CE credits can only be claimed once all components of the online course are complete, including the survey.

Student Continuing Education Credits (CECs) are provided through AHA for many Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) classes. Students can claim CECs on Atlas (atlas.heart.org).
Each Student must have an account on Atlas with the same email address that his or her eCard was sent to. A Student will only be able to claim CECs by logging in to Atlas and viewing Proof of Completion to access the link to claim CECs.
Students: First, you must claim your eCard.
- You will receive an email from [email protected] asking you to claim your eCard.
- Click on the URL in the email to claim your eCard.
- Register your email (the same email used to create your account on Atlas.
- Create a password.
- Select your security questions.
- Complete the course survey.
- Claim your eCard.
After you claim your eCard, you must wait approximately 24 hours for the eCard to be displayed on your Atlas Dashboard.
At least 24 hours after claiming your eCard, you must log into Atlas (atlas.heart.org) using the email and password that you used to create your Atlas account.
After logging in to Atlas:
- On the Dashboard, click “Proof of Completion” (Figure 1).
- On the “Proof of Completion” page, you will find your eCard (Figure 2).
- Click “Claim CE” on that eCard to claim the CEs for that class.
- Complete and submit the “CE Details” form to claim CEs (Figure 3).
- CAPCE will process the submission.
- After the CEs are issued, the Proof of Completion card will update, showing the CEs (Figure 4).
- The gray box (CAPCE/CECBEMS: ___ Credits) is a clickable link where you can collect the CEs.
Any additional documentation (if applicable) will be sent directly to the student from CAPCE.
