     This additional module is for students at risk for exposure to blood and other bodily fluids in the workplace. Learn how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to avoid exposure and what to do if exposed. After class, talk with your employer about specific policies and procedures. 

     Bloodborne Pathogens completion is included on your CPR/AED or First Aid certification valid for two years.

     In this additional module, you will learn to identify signs and symptoms of asthma, learn care of a person experiencing an asthma attack, and use a meter-dosed inhaler.

     In this additional module, you will learn to identify signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, learn care of a person experiencing a severe allergic reaction, and use an epinephrine auto-injector. 

     Anaphylaxis & Epinephrine Auto-Injector completion will be included on your CPR/AED and/or First Aid certification, valid for two years.

     In this additional module, you will learn the skill necessary to provide care to a victim of a breathing emergency using breathing devices, including resuscitation masks, bag-valve-mask resuscitators, and emergency oxygen.

Audience

Created for both young babysitters and seasoned child care professionals to sharpen your skills and become a safe, reliable babysitter.

Objectives

This course is designed to help participants develop leadership skills, build their businesses, help keep themselves and others safe, help children learn how to behave, and learn basic child care and basic first aid. With tips and information on child care, you will be ready to start your own babysitting business. Includes discussion and class activities.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training

Audience

Entry level participant who would like to be certified as lifeguards.

Objectives

This class provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. 

     Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED valid for 2 years. 

Length

The course is 32 hours in-person with practical application & skills tests. 

Prerequisites

- Minimum age: 15 years; 

- Swim 300 yards continuously; 

- Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs; 

- Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds by starting in the water swimming 20 yards surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point exit the water without using steps or a ladder.
