Wisconsin DHS-Approved Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) Training & Certification

All classes fulfill required CBRF training by State of Wisconsin DHS 83.20, as required by the Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Assisted Living.  Intended audiences are the staff of: Adult Day Cares (ADC), Adult Family Homes (AFH), Assisted Living Facilities (ALF), Residential Care Apartment Complexes (RCAC), or Community­ Based Residential Facilities (CBRF).

CBRF Standard Precautions

Audience

For staff of Adult Day Cares (ADC), Adult Family Homes (AFH), Assisted Living Facilities (ALF), Residential Care Apartment Complexes (RCAC), or Community­ Based Residential Facilities (CBRF) who must complete the State of Wisconsin DHS 83.20-required Standard Precautions training (approved by the Wisconsin Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Assisted Living). 

Objectives

This class covers how to correctly apply, wear, use and dispose of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and prevent the spread of bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases. Students will pratice handwashing techniques, how to properly apply and remove gloves, and proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques. This class is the State of Wisconsin DHS 83.20-required Standard Precautions training (approved by the Wisconsin Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Assisted Living).

Length

2 hours (mandated by Wisconsin Statute), including presentation, hands-on practice, and written test.

Prerequisites

You must bring your government-issued photo ID with you to class. 

Class Cost

$79.99/person, which includes the State of Wisconsin-required $20/person application fee.

Materials

You will be given a printed textbook when you arrive at the course.

Audience

This class provides you with the information and skills necessary to protect your residents and yourself in the event of a fire or weather emergency. We will cover fire behavior, recognizing fire hazards, early warning systems, fire extinguishers, resident evacuation needs, emergency and disaster plans, and how to respond during an emergency. This class is the State of Wisconsin DHS 83.20-required Fire Safety training (approved by the Wisconsin Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Assisted Living).

Length

3 hours (mandated by Wisconsin Statute), including presentation, hands-on practice, and written test.

This class helps you respond to medical or injury emergencies in your facility. You learn basic first aid, including how to to alleviate choking, and what to do until help arrives. You will learn about different types of emergencies and what to do in these situations. We will also cover prevention strategies to avoid many emergencies. This class is the State of Wisconsin DHS 83.20-required First Aid & Choking training (approved by the Wisconsin Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Assisted Living).

Length

 4 hours (mandated by Wisconsin Statute), including presentation, hands-on practice, and written test.

Prerequisites

You must bring your government-issued photo ID with you to class. 

Class Cost

$109.99/person, which includes the State of Wisconsin-required $20/person application fee.

Audience

Objectives

This class discussed all aspects of medication administration, including terminology, residents’ rights, requirements for storage/labeling/packing of different routes of medications, where to find policies and procedures for medication administration in your facility, and what delegation is and what is required to use it. You will have hands-on practice with administering and documenting several medications. This class is the State of Wisconsin DHS 83.20-required Medication Administration training (approved by the Wisconsin Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Assisted Living).

Length

14 hours over at least 2 days (mandated by Wisconsin Statute), including presentation, hands-on practice, and written test.

Prerequisites

You must bring your government-issued photo ID with you to class. 

Class Cost

$199.99/person, which includes the State of Wisconsin-required $20/person application fee.

Materials

You will be given a printed textbook when you arrive at the course.
